The use of BIM technology is becoming increasingly widespread, creating challenges for the stone industry due to the variability of materials. Markets are looking for new technologies that increase degrees of predictability of stone behavior and that can be implemented in BIM objects.

This WP aims (i) the creation of predictive models of stone behavior, increasing consumer confidence in this building material, (ii) the introduction of the 6th (i.e. Sustainability) and 7th (i.e., Maintenance) dimensions of BIM in the international stone markets, using a previously tested BIM platform (i.e. Inovstone4.0), (iii) the development for the markets of new “green” coatings and (iv) the valorization of stone through the use of new “green” coatings.

This WP will still work on a BIM Market Place platform and the development of combined automatic 3D scanning and testing machine to measure stone block properties.

To value the Portuguese Stone, differentiating it by the quality, reliability and speed of communication of the product, increasing the ability to adjust its characteristics to the needs of professionals around the world.
